Junto AZ: We are a group of enterprising friends that look to move ourselves forward through the benefit of others.
The idea of Junto AZ started in 2005 with five friends getting together over breakfast in order to stay connected in what was everyone’s busiest time of their lives. Early on, one of them shared what he learned while reading a biography of Benjamin Franklin, An American Life by Walter Isaacson.
Junto AZ is inspired by the same principals of Ben’s original Junto. By raising money and giving time, we look to support “microcause” issues.
A “microcause” could be any issue where a relatively small contribution, anywhere from $1,000 to $5,000, could have a significant impact. We coined the term based on a similar concept called “microfinance”. It is the extension of very small loans to poor entrepreneurs and others living in poverty who are not likely to get credit from banks, but still have very worthy business ideas.
